Step 4 - Complete initial appointment
During your initial appointment, our provider will be conducting an initial psychiatric evaluation.
Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluations are conducted to diagnose emotional, behavioral, or developmental conditions or disorders, along with building a collaborative relationship and to assist in the development of a treatment plan. Psychiatric problems are problematic to diagnose due to their complexity and noticeably different presentations.
The first visit, however, is very significant in clarifying the treatment plan. Every provider has their own system for conducting an initial psychiatric evaluation, but we all generally cover the same information.
You and your provider will meet for about 40-60 minutes for the first visit, which includes a clinical formulation and our personalized treatment recommendations.
On certain occasions, it may take up to 2-3 sessions to complete the evaluation.
-
Step 5 - Having regular, dedicated follow-up appointments - emphasis placed on your goals and progress.
After your initial appointment with developing your personalized treatment plan, you will will coordinate your dedicated follow-up visits.
Dedicated follow-up visits are the most important component of your process to progress. Depending on your needs and progress, you will typically meet with your provider every week to every 2 - 4 weeks.
-
Step 6 - Feel and maintain at peace
Throughout your journey, we will focus on your treatment plan and adjust accordingly. We will continue to ensure your care works for you.
